Rebranding Project


PROJECT SCOPE

Research and develop a new brand identity for a humanities based company, including a corporate brand name (new or redefined), a corporate slogan and mission statement, a corporate visual identity and the application of that identity to a set of media.


THE CLIENT

Q Drum (Pty) Ltd. is a social venture built around a single innovative product designed to transport water across vast distances and rough terrains: a versatile and tough rollable water transportation device. Water is essential to the survival of all forms of life. In developing countries, 1 billion people live without a water source inside - or even nearby - their homes. The collection of clean drinking water is a physically demanding, time intensive task which ultimately perpetuates the cycle of poverty to persist all around the world.

In 1992, the Hendrikse brothers recognized the need for safe and easy water transportation in rural South African communities. They observed women and children tenaciously carrying heavy amounts of water, often spending up to half of their day on this activity alone. The Hendrikse brothers concluded that water, in the adequate quantity that families need to survive, is simply too heavy to carry. They reimagined the way water is transported by designing a rollable water transportation device that they named Q Drum.
